Staying at the Grand in fairhope and playing both courses. Never been or played. What am I in for? Difficult? In good shape?

Both courses are always in good shape and fun to play!! I liked the older holes more in terms of character Vs the new. But you’ll enjoy. Top notch experience. Great clubhouse and grill too.

Two very fun tracks.
IMO, Dogwood > Azalea
They both give you all you're asking for. Depends on who you ask but I think dogwood is harder than azalea. We got to play them a few times a year in college, always in great shape due to the resort connection & private membership dues.
The grand is also a sneaky top class resort for the gulf coast.

They were in decent shape but nothing memorable for me. I’d play again because golf and convenient if staying at grand.
Get the crab claws bru.

Really enjoy both courses. Always in good shape, staff is helpful, and food is good

They had some of the best greens I've ever putted the last time I was there about 2 years ago.

Both courses are in PRIMO condition. You can’t go wrong deciding between the two. I have heard the green fee for resort guests have gone up to $205. Not sure if that’s went into effect just yet.
You could buy the Robert Trent Jones Trail Card, which would end up getting the green fee down to $125.
They have so many members now that they don’t need the resort play like they used to. Which is why they are creeping up the resort guest fee. Last I heard about 7% of their rounds were coming from resort guests.

I played dogwood once last year. Played awful, but really enjoyed it.
