Things are looking to have a big shake up again
Bill in California being brought from an SDSU basketball player that all college athletes should get a piece of TV, ticket sales, concessions etc. if California accepts this bill this will have to role out it other schools
NCAA is also being approach to have a players union.
College sports will no longer be for their logo
They will be big business with employees
Soon there will be retirement packages and worker comp
I am sure their are other bills moving forward it least being written…. College sports is just not the same, going in a direction not with the word student in it anymore

so for the sports that lose money every year, do the athletes have to put up their own to fill the gaps?
or is this only a one way street?

The cost of athletics is still pretty expensive for universities
When is $100,000 in tuition not gonna be enough

I don’t see this bill passing.
NIL it is a personal freedom to make money off of yourself. The schools can easily argue that they already share revenue from those deals with the player by way of tuition, facilities, etc.

Did not realize SDSU Basketball players could introduce legislation in California, but would not surprise me.

Doesn't matter what the NCAA says, public university students need their states permission to unionize

Sounds like the player is acting as a lobbyist for college athletes. Lobbyists write bills and the legislators introduce them. The legislators often don't have any clue what is in the bill. Try listening to the floor debate some time. It can be painful.
