Most Wonderful Experience Ever

I am 47 years of age and have been going to Tiger Stadium for many years and have seen some of the most memorable games in LSU History with LSU vs USC 1979 my very favorite, but Saturday was one of if not the best time I ever had and it was not necessarily the game itself. I and my 6 year old son had special passes to enter initially the Jeff Boss center within minutes of the coaches and team entering prior to the game as we did eventually after the game. We mingled with ex players, coaches, family of the coaches and recruits. We saw a part of LSU that we had never seen, all the LSU memorbilia, paintings, trophies, on top of the electric atmosphere. We made our way to the field and stood on the side lines as the players warmed up and listened to the student section who were extremely loud even at that time, then watched the band and players come onto the field just prior to kick out.. It was one of the most surreal moments of my life as the band performed its pregame ritual and then the team made its way out of the tunnel to the sidelines as we stood next to them on the sideline. I still feel like I am dreaming. All before the largest capacity crowd at LSU. It is true, unless you experience the crowd noise at ground zero, you really can not imagine how loud it really gets in Tiger Stadium. My experience was only slightly effected by LSU's eventually loss, though I was proud of them for almost winning it. I wish every true Tiger Fan could get to experience what I did on Saturday, my words can not come close to articulating what I felt as I stood there with my son. Thanks for listening just thought I had to share this with my Tiger Friends......

I don't miss many big LSU games. I wish I could have been there, but I'm in Memphis and had to work.

I've alaways thought to myself.."Wow, it must be awesome to be a player and to run-out on the field". That would be so killer! Those kids will remember that experience of being a Tiger for the rest of their lifes. Good stuff!

Thanks guys, I never thought in a million years that I would get to experience that, we were truly blessed.....I had a good friend and asked him and his six year old son to go, but he declined, if he only knew what he could have experienced.....

Good stuff Swamp.
I had a GREAT time in the WU's. It was so packed that one of the guys who sits below me was insisted by us to sit next to my seat. I had and always have a great time with the group of guys who sit in front of us. It's great when you have been sitting next to the same season ticket holders for years. Bama was a loss, but one of the best times I have ever had in TS, myself.

Thanks Pisces..... I just wish that I had not forgotten to charge my digital video camera...I did take pictures and would share a few if I knew how to show them on this site....not sure how, I am not exactly the best computer person in the world...LOL

In spite of the loss and afternoon game time, Saturday was the best experience I've ever had in Tiger Stadium. It's really difficult to describe it.
It was even better after it was announced that the sun had set in the West and it was officially "Saturday night in Tiger Stadium".

I think '07 Florida was a better overall experience, but I'll be damned if this game wasn't a blast. I was hoarse 12 minutes into the first quarter. The entirety of the game was as electric as UF last year and that blocked kick was perhaps more exciting than D. Byrd's Auburn TD last year. It's just a damn shame that we couldn't get the W.

yea that blocked kick was one of the most amazing moments i can remember in tiger stadium...talk about loud!

I was sitting right behind the team and they went wild when that kick was blocked. Before the play, it was like time was standing still and everyone was frozen. Then all hell broke loose.

Great story! We were sitting behind the team and had a great time too. We did not sit down the entire game and screamed and yelled for 4 hours. My husband went to MS State and even he was horse all of Sunday. It was a great game, but I am really sad we lost.

I'm 56 and started going to LSU games with my dad and brother when I was 12 years old. Used to take the train from Shreveport.
My biggest mistake was starting in 1978 thru the 1980 season covering the games on the sidelines for a local station here in Shreveport. Like Swampcat said, you have literally know idea how much different it is on the sidelines. If ruined being in the stands for me.
If I can't get a sideline pass....I'm not interested. I have a friend who has had season tickets since 1998 and had a chance to be on the sidelines for the Georgia game and begged him not to do it. It would ruin him. Realistically maybe one game would have been okay but after several games being in the stands is boring compared to being on the sidelines.

No we were there for about the first few minutes then made our way to our seats...
but honestly I enjoyed the game afterwards as well, as we meet up with my relative in the Lawton Center with the families, players, recruits, then took a tour of the Football Operations Facilities which is phenominal....
