Greenwell Springs Rd., or Hwy 37, is shut down currently as Central Police & East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s deputies investigate a possible shooting.

Sources tell Unfiltered with Kiran it may have been a drive-by shooting on Hwy. 37 because several shell casings are around the scene. The vehicle then ended up in the woods. One person was in the vehicle and the man has died.

That's right by the Comite River Bridge.

Hwy. 37 is shut down between St. Alphonsus Catholic Church at Frenchtown Rd. and Cherryl Dr. as officials piece together what led to the homicide. As of now, no vehicles are allowed in either direction so drivers need to find an alternate route. The closure is expected to last several hours.

St. Alphonsus Catholic School is not on lockdown at this time. However, they will delay releasing children but they have not said how long that delay will be.

There used to be a pool hall in an old wooden shack right near this same bridge. Anyone remember that place?

I grew up out there in the 80s to mid 90s. Hardly recognize the place anymore.

This is right by my neighborhood and I have a kid at St. Alphonsus. I wish we could just blow the bridges and keep BR out entirely

A phenomenon I've noticed. The culture (I was banned for spelling it the other way) is leaking out of the city limits into the "buffer" suburbs.

Soon those will be taken over and the next burbs in line will be getting the leakage

The shooting was actually on the Baton Rouge side of the bridge.

Where do you think the kids in the burbs get their drugs?
