I assume Jay would like it to be Hurd eventually so Cooper can be another lefty out of the pen. I’d like to see Shores get stretched out before conference play.

He’s not really. He’s the high leverage reliever, we don’t have a true closer and may not all year.

It won’t be Cooper. He’s far too valuable out of the pen. Roles like his are incredibly important, and he’s proven that he can pitch multiple times per weekend.

Clearly that’s Johnson’s hope/plan since we lost Taylor, which was a gut punch. Taylor was without doubt the Saturday guy.
