To the people of the LSU Golf Course,

Why on Earth do y'all have the markers on the driving range in the lowest/muddiest part of the range? Why aren't they on the ridge like they used to be?? Went there last week after some rain and thought maybe they just forgot but went back today and it was in the same exact spot

The Fred's tourney on Sat should be interesting

If they cannot get it going while Dumas and Copper Mill are closed for renovations then they can never get it going. Shut it down.

My vote is to make it a lighted/night short course.

This is the best option possible. Walkable 9 hole par 3. Open 5-10.

They can't get it going because LSU doesn't want them to get it going. From what I've been told, the only money that's being put into the golf course is the $10 that the random student pays at the counter for a round.

Makes me sad because I know it's only a matter of time until they shut it down and turn it into parking.

That is false. Place would be shut down. They lose money. Think about it.

Plus it was in the advocate that LSU puts money into it.

I think a 9 hole course, a lighted 6 hole par 3/pitch and putt course, and a lighted driving range with a Top Golf type building and atmosphere would be great.

It would be perfect to introduce more students to the game.

Or they could just restore it to what it was early 2000s and plenty people would play.

I had a lot of fun rounds there and my only hole in 1

Played it. No groundbreaking news here but the greens were pretty bad but honestly I thought the fairways were in decent shape. I just find it strange that they don’t at least spray some dam round up around there. Weeds growing all around the hole markers and shite.

We had a good crew working out there. They need another Mike Johnson

He was making 250k and banging coeds, I’m sure they could entice someone to take it over with a similar offer

I agree, fairways were ok. Many of the Tee boxes and all of the greens we played need a complete overhaul. I didn't think it had been let go so much. They would need to close for a year or so and re-sod the place.

it's so funny how playing that simple course in college felt like we were on the cusp of hitting the tour

It was definitely one of the nicest public courses in the area at that time. I loved the lighted pitch and putt too, was really great. I spent almost every day of the summer there from like 7th grade until I started driving. They would never charge kids our age to play if we walked and would even let us take a cart sometimes.

The latter could be true, but if he was knocking down that, then why was he driving a shitty mini van and then a PT cruiser? He did have like 4 kids in UHigh, but you'd think he'd get a discount.

It’s run by a retired plant worker. They took Mike Johnson’s (great pro) salary and gave it to an accountant offsite. It’s run worse than the Biden administration

Thinking about playing there this weekend. It is hot garbage but it’s a cool layout and there is a range and a chipping area.
May just use the whole thing as a practice area.

Unbelievable (believable) that the state’s flagship university has an entire agricultural department and the golf course on the campus can’t grow grass on tee boxes and greens. There’s better grass in the courtyard of the business school. I would like to see the course used as a “lab” by students from the Ag department. Hell, offer it as a 3000-4000 level capstone project. LSU could really flip this to their favor.
