Home window tint

I’m thinking about starting a tinting business and doing strictly residential/commercial window tinting. I’ve been in the automotive window tint industry for about a decade now(working for someone else) but I feel like there’s a niche in my area for someone who specializes in home and commercial.
As far as a typical homeowner, what would you be willing to pay to have your home tinted? As far as price per window, or for your whole home.
Residential/commercial film comes in a wide variety. You can go charcoal, mirrored, and even if you didn’t want that “tinted” look you could go with a very light ceramic film and still cut down on a lot of heat coming in.
I also plan on offering a security film. Some film companies claim it can’t stop bullets but I would do my own testing before I marketed that.
Let me know what you guys are thinking. It’s nerve racking to take a leap and start your own business but I think with the right marketing I could do well with it.

Tbh, I would never put it on my home. I enjoy looking outside at my yard
Mirrored tint on a home would look obnoxious
Commercial I would imagine would be your primary business by far

And that’s exactly what most people think about having window tint on their home. That’s why I would have to market myself pretty heavily. I could put a film on your windows that you really couldn’t even tell was on there, but still block about 30% of heat coming in and 99% of UV rays (for people that have wood floors or furniture in front of windows that don’t want sun damage)

commercial is where it’s at
finishing up a dispensary in BR the dude is coming next week to film 2 dozen windows and I’m wishing I was in his business

We have tint on our windows (not mirror) and it's incredible how much heat it blocks. I recommend it.

Need a partner? I think it could be pretty big with the right strategy.

I would definitely get like a 30% tint on my windows it would pay for itself in one spring / summer

Do you mind if I ask how you found it, what I would google to find it, and what it cost per Sq foot plus install?

I went with solar screens. I like those better.

I have wanted this for my house but I suck at putting material on windows. I would love to know pricing for this for my home. I say don't sweat it so much and just go for it dude. There are lots of vehicle window tinting places you could always fall back to if it doesn't pan out.

Window manufacturers will not warranty their windows if film is applied, just FYI....
On older windows it wouldn't matter, but the cost of applying tint to an older window gets into the replacement consideration.
