At Shadow Creek in Vegas. That place is incredible.

My Ortho Doctor has played it several times.

Pretty sure that I helped pay for his rounds.

I played it about 10 years ago while in Vegas for a conference. A vendor covered the round, but I believe it was $500 or so.

The whole experience matches the course. Got picked up by a limo at Bellagio. Got a locker about 4-5 down from a locker with Michael Jordan’s name on it—it was a who’s who of names in there. It felt like the staff would bend over backwards to get you anything you wanted.

The best part is they didn’t overbook it, or not enough people will pay that much to play it. Either way, it felt like we had the course to ourselves. I think I saw one group out there the entire time. Our caddie was great and a couple times made us chip/putt to different hole locations to have fun with the slopes.

I would 100% do it again and pay for it myself if I had the chance.

Do the prices keep people away to the point that it’s not hard to get on? I want to play one of these elite courses for the USC trip next year.

I don't you can play unless you stay at the MGM. There is a story told by Couples that he was not allowed on because he wasn't staying at the MGM.

Things may have changed over the last 10 years, but you have to be staying at a MGM property and typically need to schedule well in advance. Unless you’re a high roller, you likely won’t get on unless you have a foursome and play during the week.

ETA: Here’s a GolfDigest article with recent info. Now it’s $750-1k and they only allow two foursomes from MGM hotels play per day Mon-Thur.

In short, yes.

I've played a handful of some pretty nice/famous courses throughout the country for $300-$600 and had no problem paying it.

$1,000 for Shadow Creek is a tough pill to swallow when Vegas has so many other options. I'd rather hit Wolf Creek for $250.
