Annually, well before 2014, the most irrelevant event in sports. I think I've watched a combined 20 minutes of ESPYs since its inception. 15 minutes of which is probably of the Jimmy V speech.
Sports, unlike movies, or music, or theatre, etc, have clearly defined winners and losers. Thus, the Super Bowl Champ, World Series champ, etc couldn't give any less of a shite about winning a subjective award for "best team".
I'm not saying the event should not exist, nor should people who enjoy the even not watch. But for me, I couldn't care any less. And the agenda driven programing over the last decade or so has already made an unwatchable event even more unwatchable
