Outside of Augusta? Curious about the conditions and overall atmosphere of the property. They have really nice golf houses and the first two rounds of the ladies AM before it moves to Augusta.

ALLDAWG is a member.
It’s deluxe.
I’ve played it in 2 fundraisers.
DA Points played on a team that laid out 25K to have him on their team.
Rod Pampling hit a shot for every group.
The 9s are distinct. I prefer the 9 by the river.

Thanks, thinking about a national membership here. They are offering a wonderful preview deal that I am considering. Never been and was informed about it only a week or so ago.
Are the courses worth the initiation ask of 37500?

It is extremely nice.
For me, that’s too much, but like all things it comes down to what you want.
IF you want a well maintained first class faculty where they treat you great-go for it.
One of my friends is an in town member. He plays with us at my club (West Lake), but he does really like the ambience at CR.
Another friends brother is an out of town member. They love it.
Augusta is a little short of golf clubs right now. Forest Hills lost their greens, The River Golf Club is going private, Bartrum Trail is crowded, West Lake is up to the gills in members. Jones Creek closed before the pandemic so there just us not much choice.
Champions is elite.
Woodside Reserve in Aiken is great.
Another step up to SAGE Valley if money is no object.
Strangely I sort of like Belle Meade in Thomson and Mount Vintage in Aiken.

From a purely golf aspect it’s a no brainer if you’ve got the cash to spend and you WANT to spend it somewhere. The course is legit in respect to difficulty and being a class A experience. I asked Luke list one day how hard CR was 1-10 compared to courses on the tour and he said about a 7 the fairways need to be a little more narrow. My golfing pet peeve is staring at the back of peoples heads ahead of you for 4 plus hours waiting to hit. Play is very light at CR that’s rarely an issue once in a while you’ll come up behind a group of out of towners with a four caddy and they will let you through. Our tee time is getting rained out as I type this we will show up when it clears around 11 and get on no problem. You can’t do that anywhere else where they are packing memberships. Do take note of the caddy policy. If you play with more than one guest you are required to get a four caddy at an additional charge tip etc. it takes a $130 round and pushes it north of $200 for your guests. Bud hey, local initiation is much higher than what you quoted if you’re willing to spend that much for an elite golfing experience maybe you’ve got buddies who will too.

Thanks for the information. I am a member of a local club in Houston plus Squire Creek.
I really would like a club that has excellence as its cornerstone, I have also been placed on the waitlist at Prairie Dunes. PD comes with some pull when you want to play other top end clubs and the national dues are less and the initiation is less than CR. What I see in CR is a wonderful experience for family when they accompany me. Do they have great F&B?
As far as initiation is concerned I believe it to be a little high from the perspective it’s not considered a top golf course by any of the rankings. This in itself isn’t bad because that’s just like Squire and it’s a wonderful course BUT I bet it doesn’t have pull when I’m traveling and want to play the best course in the area. PD does do that but it doesn’t look to have the same level of service, golf houses and F&B.
Again thanks for your input. I am going to make it up there sometime this fall to check it out.

Good luck with the PD national waitlist. I’m friends with a guy that was on there for about 3-4 years I believe and never got in. But then he got in Wade Hampton so I don’t feel bad for hm.

Sad to hear Jones Creek has closed. I worked for the management company that opened it at a couple of different clubs in Georgia. Always enjoyed driving up from Savannah or Brunswick to play it.

Such bad timing.
They shut it down due to a fight with the county.
Then about a year later, golf exploded due to Covid.
If JonesCreek had stayed open, some of the growth of membership atWest Lake may have been mitigated.
