Where have Nick Saban/Bama been successful where other CFB dynasties failed.

This stems from watching Swamp Kings and seeing how it was nearly impossible for Myer to sustain his run at Florida and most likely tOSU due to his obsession with perfection, and all the stress he put on himself. Also players constantly getting in trouble.
It seems as though Saban and the Bama program has been able to avoid major player issues with arrests, drugs etc. There have been some, but it doesn't seem to the level of programs like Nebraska, FSU, Miami, USC had during their runs of dominance.

They adapted, look at Bama in 2008 and compare that with 2020.

He is the best recruiter of all time and has adopted concepts that have beaten him. He’ll beat you at his game with superior talent or eventually beat you at your game with superior talent.

Good point, while LSU was still running into brick walls, they were running spread

Levels of insulation between bag men and the football offices. They avoided the NCAA hammer. That is as impressive as anything.

LSU fans were jacking off to our QB in 2013 and Bama trotted out a RB to play QB the following year who put up better stats/wins.

Besides Saban being an absolute fricking machine, we’ve had some really great luck

Just saying “Saban” isn’t that simple.
Urban is every bit the coach as Saban
Undefeated Utah
3 championships at 2 different schools. If he goes to I have no doubt he will be right in line for another one
But what urban can’t seem to do is not have a damn heart attack or run into a wall. He can compete with Saban, but he can’t stay happy or dedicated at the same place. It’s weird

It helps when the judges let their players out of felony charges because “they work in the sun”.

Urban forgets skill position players still need an offensive line, and then leaves once that rears it's ugly head.

They had the best coach and had fully captured the NCAA with Emmert so they weren't going to get beaten down like USC and Miami.

For 3-4 years, and then he loses focus/intensity and gets anxious/lazy.
Saban is a machine.

Urban's weakness is finger-banging coeds in a bar.

Urban
85% win percentage
3 national titles in 17 seasons for 18% of seasons coached equals a title(and two of his undefeated teams weren’t allowed to compete for a title)
Saban
80% win percentage
7 national titles in 27 seasons for 26% of seasons equals a title

elite recruiting every year combined with the ability to adapt his teams to the times. It also doesn't hurt that he had Kirby Smart to lean on for most of his tenure there.

His recent hires of Rees and Steele seem pretty mediocre, though
