… named Ian Book. Athletic QB with nice scrambling ability, but failed to ever push the ball down the field to really good WR’s and tight ends. Teams loaded the box and never had to respect beyond 20 yards.

Ian Book? Even in his worst year he was a better passer than JD’s best year. Most wins in ND history. He passed for over 30 touchdowns one year.

I tried to tell people that BK’s quarterback history was a huge red flag.
I understand that the point is to win in college, but the fact that Book looked so utterly dismal in every single aspect of quarterback play with the Saints after years with Kelly says something.
Hell, even Cam Cameron helped Mett improve - he was a fundamentally sound QB into the pros but just had zero mobility.

JD is NOT a QB. JD is an athlete that plays QB. Nuss is a QB and he will ball out and we all know it.

QB isn't the problem. Offense runs on all cylinders when they can run the ball and WR catch the ball.
