Google linked you to two different dictionaries. Google didn't make up the definition or change it.

It does appear that Google may have changed it's result algorithm to show only one result for bloodbath, and that result specifically references violence at protests.
Search results for similar election words result in multiple definitions. For example "landslide":
1.
the sliding down of a mass of earth or rock from a mountain or cliff.
"the road was blocked by a landslide"
2.
an overwhelming majority of votes for one party in an election.
"winning the election by a landslide"
