Walked up the stairs to my buddy’s camp this evening. Then walked back down to get something out the truck. Bastard got me on my knee. Forgot how much they hurt. He won the battle but lost the war. They are out and mean.

I hate being chased by wasps more than the sting I think. I once a aggravated some wasps under an eve and jumped smooth off a 40ft ladder. it was only the 2nd or 3rd rung but still.

Went out to work on my little enclosed trailer camper conversion the other day, which has a mini split with the condenser mounted above the tongue. It has a soft cover over it to protect it from the weather/debris when traveling. I run the unit while working in it because obviously it’s hot as hell. Not thinking, I walked up and pulled the cover off… wasps went everywhere! Pretty sure I teleported back to the house and managed to not get stung
Ended up being 2 different nests on the condenser. They got sprayed. I won’t make that mistake again lol

My PawPaw and i were fishing on Toledo Bend. I got hung up. We bumped this old tree and red wasps started pouring out the top of that tree. We both went into the water. Everytime we came up for air they would dive bomb. They are mean and nasty critters.

Funny you say that. Got to my camp yesterday afternoon and walked onto my back deck. Coming down the steps I got nailer by a wasp right under my left eye. Didn’t hurt terribly bad but my eye is swollen shut this morning

Hate the damn things. Highly allergic but not deathly allergic. I swell up like a bitch and am out of service for a few days when I get stung. Last time I couldn’t even get a croc on my foot from getting stung in the leg.

I stirred a nest of them once in the backyard. By the time I got in the house and all my clothes off, I was stung 12 times from head to toe and twice on my balls. They flew up into my shorts.

No shite.

put amonia on it and it immediately stops hurting, but as soon as you take it away the pain comes back

One of the health benefits of chewing tobacco is having tobacco juice to put on wasp stings. It’s amazing how it takes the “sting” away.

I've used this for years and it works great for me. I've got a yankee neighbor up the road and yellow jackets lit him up last summer. He called them "hornets". LOL! Anyway, I made him a plantain poultice, showed him how to do it and how to identify plantain. He was amazed at how well it worked. Some yankees CAN be educated! YouTube link:

Last time I got stung by a yellow jacket, it got me on my right ear. Hurt like hell and my ear started swelling up like an MMA fighter with cauliflower ears, but, thankfully, it didn't last long before the swelling went down.

For such small critters, they do pack a punch.
