All I'm gonna say is there is a lot of runway in front of Spaceballs if they want to go there.

I knew Josh Gad had written one since that came out a week or so ago, but is Mel Brooks even competent enough to partake and direct anymore? I know he's old as shite now, but I wonder how is his mind these days.
If he's still got it and still capable, I'd take a sequel directed by him (or with him heavily involved). Not sure I would be interested in anyone else at the helm though.

Mel still gets out and about quite frequently, so I think his mind is actually fine. Maybe his personal health is ailing, but you’ll see him frequently with his son Max at comedy clubs and restaurants in the LA area.

The movies where he did, it was not that controversial to do. . .aside from Blazing Saddles.

He was pretty involved in History of the World pt 2, which wasn’t great, but not bad either.

This is how I feel as well. The 15 commandments scene is priceless, but the rest of the movie was only ok to me.
