Watching this recently released documentary on Netflix and I find it extremely educational. Nice detail in the analysis of the start and growth of the 3rd Reich and mindset of the German people. Outside of the occasional attempted connections to the conservative party of today ( make Germany great again, and fake news references) I am enjoying it.

Hitler’s Circle of Evil is another good one.

My default position is that pretty much every US kid growing up has at least a basic understanding of the real bad stuff that went on 90 years ago in Germany.
Alas, such is not the case these days.
But even worse, far fewer Americans know what Stalin did to the (then) Ukraine territory or have heard anything about Cambodia and the Killing Fields, (other than maybe it was some movie from the 80's) or the full-on butchery in Rwanda of the 90's, etc..
For it is the doom of men that they forget

I've seen many documentary on ww2 but this one has given me some insights and timelines that I hadn't picked up before. Also the interesting correlation with the Nuremberg trials.

I didn’t really care for it. I was hoping for more focus on the actual trial, not a retrospective of Hitler’s rise to power and all the strategic blunders he made and his last days in the bunker. Just seemed like a lot of content that’s already been hashed out before.

I enjoyed it and found it interesting the state Germany was really in just prior to AH ‘s rise to Chancellor. They had actually rebounded well economically and socially. I had always thought the country was in a deep economic depression that made his rise almost necessary. Also didn’t like the guy portraying Hitler. For a non-speaking roll, they could have found a closer doppelgänger.

I agree on the guy playing Hitler. He came across as a comedic representation
