Bass Fishing choices

My wife and I are going on another bass fishing adventure this October. Last year, we went to Guntersville and I made the mistake of not hiring a guide. My couple days of fishing were good, but would have been a lot better if I knew the water better. So this year, we're either going back to Guntersville or a few other lakes that I have to choose from. We can go West to Toledo Bend, Sam Rayburn or Lake Fork, or we can go East to Guntersville, Wheeler, Eufala or Lake Seminole. We will definitely be hiring a guide for whichever lake we choose. Anyone ever had a guide on any of these and what was your experience like?

Both Eufaula and Seminole can be rough in October
Would probably have better luck on Wheeler /Guntersville as October has traditionally been better for me on spotted bass lakes as opposed to largemouth predominant lakes.
(Guntersville is an anomaly in that due to the hydrilla beds)

These can all be incredible in the fall. If I'm hiring a guide, I'd go to Fork for the best chance at a monster.

Fall fishing is tough as hell on most reservoirs. Go to Fork and try and catch one biggun..Def get a guide for first day.

Out of those I'd choose Fork tbh

October can be a lot of fun on Toledo bend and Sam Rayburn. November is actually my favorite month. Lots of 100+ fish days that time of year.let me know if we can help. Bent Rods Guide Service

I'm only familiar with those 3 lakes. Toledo or Sam for numbers and the chance at a good one. Fork for the best chance at a big one, but not as many total.

I'm not sure how avid of a bass fisherman your wife is but if she is like mine, not much just likes to catch fish, then I highly suggest Fayette Resevoir between Houston and Austin.
It is a very small resevoir with a slot limit 14-24" but anyone can catch fish there and it is just a fun place to fish.. No guide is needed in Oct just hit some grass points and reed banks early, then move out to deeper water as it gets hotter.

She mainly rides, takes pictures and videos, fishes a little but if we're at a place that you can just catch em, I bet she would love that.

Rip some smallmouth lips below Wilson Dam on Pickwick. Phenomenal fishing, plenty of guides in the area as well.

I wish they’d stock lake Norman with these Share A lunker bass.
