Looking for a camp or houseboat recommendation for Venice the weekend of September 19-22. 4 of us going down for an annual brother's trip.

We want something on the water with somewhere to tie up a couple boats (21' Nautic Star, 30' Grady White).

Something with fishing off the dock would be awesome and water only access is fine. I doubt we will use the camp for much more than sleeping, showering and cleaning teal/fish so it doesn't need to be fancy in that regard.

Is there anywhere other than VRBO I should be looking for these camps? We have a potential spot down in PAL but unsure if the owner is using it that weekend and we want something nailed down.

Airbnb lists some. You can also find some for rent on marketplace and calling Venice marina or cypress cove.

We've always just rented off VRBO. I always got one with an ice machine as well. Makes it a lot easier.

Thanks that's a good tip.

There are some Venice fishing groups on Facebook. I would recommend joining and posting there. You will get a lot of recommendations.

I have never actually fished Venice, but would love to give it a try. These have been tempting me for a while. I just don't know my way around the waters, best paths to get offshore, etc.

Cypress Cove's hotel is nice and on water with skinning table over the Jump. if you're wanting a houseboat, Venice Marina is the best bet. If you want food/booze--venice marina is also your best bet as the only thing I've found decent is Cypress Cove's Bushwaker (when the bar is open every full blue moon).

I wouldn't put off booking until the last minute (like normal teal seasons). In past it hasnt been a problem to find a houseboat/hotel to stay in during season--however with the new plant up the road, a lot of workers are having to stay all the way down in Venice clogging up most of the motels that hunters stay at.

That just pushes everyone to rent the houseboats, which has caused most of the houseboats to get booked fast (atleast thats how it has been most of the summer).

Better hurry, I didn’t get any of the top 5-6 I really like, and struggled just to find one TBH. And my dates are mid October….

I've stayed at Cody's Rainbow Reds many times. It's basic will sleep at least 6 and was the cheapest for a while. I looked, but couldn't find a link to book it anymore.
