Two ESPN writers polled 20 NBA execs post summer league and their consensus ROTY is Reed. He averaged 20/5/5. I was thrilled he fell to us, as I thought he was the best overall prospect at a position of need. Can’t believe I’m actually looking forward to basketball season for the first time in a long time. Any other Rockets fans feel the same?

Very efficient and selfless player. Dunno if he’ll be a star but I’d be willing to bet he’s a key asset for contending teams his entire career.

Normally, I’d agree. And, I think the plan is to start him slowly by coming off the bench behind VanVleet & Green. That said, he checked every box you can in Vegas.

He'll be fine coming off the bench.

Seems really early to assume anything like this considering the season hasn't started and the competition he faced was not great, but with that said, he's a fantastic player with the highest basketball IQ I have ever seen, so no reason he won't be a star.

Yeah it wasn’t just about the stats there, he looked so smooth.

Premature hope is the best thing we’ve had going lately.

Im not saying the dude isn't good. But he was playing against the same guys he played during college regular season. No huge competition difference.

It's going to be different, way different when he's playing against NBA starters and regular rotation guys.

He wasn't good enough start over DJ Wagner in college so he probably a flop in NBA.

Stockton type player on the offensive side. Not a bad bet. If dillingham gels well in min the timberwolves will be top of the west and he will have 15 and 6 assist, in the hunt.

I think Sheppard will be a good rotation player for the Rockets as a distributor/scorer. But, this draft class was horrific. If he wasn't a favorite for ROTY, there'd be an issue.

Time will tell, but yeah, on paper, it was a poor class. That’s why I’m glad the Wizards picked Sarr and he fell to us at 3.
