What is your favorite or recommended best pasta one can buy?
Brand? Shape? Type?

Homemade. One egg per 100g of flour. Mix into a dough, roll out, cut.

You have been here too long to post this on tOT.

The best widely available bronze cut pasta is De Cecco, the Costco version (forgot the name is decent also).

I usually don't make pasta unless it is for ravioli or tortellini.

The type depends on the dish/sauce. We usually have 7 or 8 types in the pantry.

Rotini (corkscrew) for me. Really hangs on to sauces well.

If you knew how stupidly easy it is to make from scratch and how much better it tastes you'd never even ask.

This is America. Restate that in freedom units or prepare to face the consequences.

Radiatore. Any brand, sometimes available at Target, also available at Amazon. Holds sauce even better than rotini, makes great mac & cheese.

I don't eat a ton of it, but I damn sure love it. I favor bronze cut slow dried pasta over fresh if it is not a filled pasta. Look for pale off-white to light yellow with "barbs" from the bronze dye extrusion. DeCecco is legit and easy to find, my favorite "anywhere brand" and consistent. For real Ital stuff, I like Rummo, DiMartino, Garafalo among others. If I'm gonna eat it, I want it to be good.

DeCecco is getting into most stores now and is about the best dry pasta you’ll find.

Bucatini, rigatoni, and regular spaghetti is about all I buy.
