Israel has seemed to latch on to a good idea. But do they make them for both offense and defense response. Will the Feds ban the use of such pagers. Will you be allowed to take them on airlines.
Its a whole new security world!!!!!!!

Pagers aren’t encrypted like modern day cell phones. Israel has some of the best strategic hackers in the world. They basically sent a signal to these pagers and made the batteries explode.

Most pagers send out messages randomly and are just FSK ASCII. You can do what’s called fox hunting searching frequencies and intercept messages. They are easily decoded if you know what you’re doing.

Every Haiji in the Middle East that had an alpha pager yesterday that didn’t blow up threw them
In the trash

Paul Christensen, an expert in lithium ion battery safety at Newcastle University said the level of damage caused by the pager explosions seemed inconsistent with known cases of such batteries failing in the past.
"What we're talking about is a relatively small battery bursting into flames. We're not talking of a fatal explosion here. I'd need to know more about the energy density of the batteries, but my intuition is telling me that it's highly unlikely," he said.

Cause it wasn't the batteries. They intercepted the order and installed 20 grams of explosive then sent malware to overheat the batteries to set it off. Pretty smart. Lithium batteries just mostly smoke and catch fire

It’s being reported that Israel built the pager company from ground up, built the pagers ?? to the specific needs. Some fantastic counter terrorism work.

You subject line was subtle comedy gold. I laughed.

The actual post... not so much. Still get a good grade for subject title.

If China detonated US owned pagers and maimed or killed US children, would we consider that terrorism?

It's better than that.

Israel actually set up shell companies in other countries to manufacture the pagers and walkies with explosives already inside them, and then masterfully navigated the supply chain to ensure that the items made it into the hands and pockets of the goat rapers.

Possibly the most brilliantly executed and savvy anti-terrorism operation I've ever seen.
