Keep cranking right and up. The gun is grouping well. It just stays low and left. Have I maxed out the adjustment even though it still clicks? I’ve read about shimming it for elevation. Shim for wind age as well? Should I move where the scope is mounted more forward? I like the low profile mount. Should I use the higher, see through mount? Any advice appreciated. I’m new to red dots. I have sighted in and shot tons of conventional scopes with no issues. I feel like a dumbass at the moment. I will put it in the lead sled tomorrow. I didn’t think that would be necessary at close range.

I maxed out the windage on a holosun but if I remember correctly, I felt resistance when I got it there. It felt like I could have turned it more but I didn’t want to break anything. It came pre-mounted on a shotgun and I thought for sure the mount had been drilled incorrectly. I loosened the screws and it had enough play in there to get it lined up better.

That may not apply to you depending on what kind of red dot you have, but I thought it was worth mentioning.

It’s possible there could be an issue with the sight if you can’t find anything wrong with the way it’s mounted. What kind is it?

Maybe some more resistance. I can only shoot for a few minutes a day. It clicks?

I could see you possibly maxing out one but not both windage and elevation, it sounds like something might not be working correctly, unless the mount is really jacked up.

That’s where I’m at. It consistently hits the same spot. It’s weird that it won’t move. Maybe the way it’s mounted has it maxed out?

Buy better guns.

If you strap it into a lead sled and shoot with no pressure anywhere but the trigger, and then you dial the scope to adjust for the hit and nothing happens, either your gun or your scope is malfunctioning. If you shoot off hand and hit low left, quit jerking off.

Had the same problem with a holosun 403. Sent it back to the factory. Told them my problem. They sent me a new one. Sighted in the shotgun. Been reliable so far.

I had a cheap vortex red dot that basically had no reaction when I'd adjust elevation. After the third attempt, I actually had my focus on the dot while adjusting and could see the dot "drop". Not like it all of a sudden started adjusting 1/2 MOA at a time. Like it caught up the 10 MOA I had already turned it all at once. It's like there was friction trapped in the system or something that nothing was happening, then something released, and it caught up. Worked perfectly since then. Seems like recoil would be enough vibration to free those things up, but it wasn't in this particular case.

Sounds like you’ve done right. It is the sight; Holosun’s have good warranty service.

I’ve bought subpar sights from Leupolds, to Vortex, to SigSauer and had a bad Eotech…it happens but all have good warranty support so when you’re doing all the right steps to mount and sight in, it’s usually a subpar product.

Anything man made can have issues. I just had to send a Trijicon SRO back because it died.
