Belle Chasse quarterback had great numbers, team won 4A state title. How come he is not being recruited by the larger schools?

Well who is he, give us some stats, size, weight, etc. Tell us something.

Not a major D-1 recruit. Undersized for a QB. Where will he play in college?

He's a good athlete, but he's around 5'9 170.

LA TECH?

With this pick and Duron from Evangel as Gatorade Player of the Year, it seems like they are trying to pick high school kids that aren't going to be major prospects. It's like they're saying, "We'll give these guys props because Randle and Ford will get their accolades on the next level."

Ford and Randle weren't even considered for Mr. Football. It was between Ridge Turner and Matherne. Matherne was named 4A player of the year over Ford.

Like I said...
No way is he better than Ford or Randle.

The award has nothing to do with who will be a better prospect. That dude won state running a spread offense to perfection. He deserved the award.
This does not mean Div 1 schools will flock to him. He is undersized. See Randall Mackey

this is like a "pound for pound" type of ranking..

As far as BM playing SEC football, I watched him play against Eunice and he makes plays. He could play a different position (WR, CB) and play on that level based on his skills. He size is comparable to West Monoroe and Leesville qb.

Ford ran for damn near 3 grand and got fricked out of the playoffs.

The reality of high school offenses now days is that Spread QBs will put up the numbers to garner the post-season awards.
A RB that averaged 250 yards per game as the main focus of an offense still doesn't have the overall numbers spread QBs put up in a prolific offense.
Matherne had a great season. I don't agree with him being named ahead of Ford, but I'm biased. Matherne's team won the championship. That carried more weight.

Banks is going to Tulane. Stallworth is going to Auburn, but is a tad faster. I watched all 3 play this year and they're all very much alike.

Cajun-Do you ever listen? I was talking about BM playing college football, never mentioned anything about La. Mr. Football.

I wasn't responding to you qb. Didn't notice you were in this thread even. Chill out with your vendetta against me. Everyone knows you made a fool of yourself regarding Ford and my information. Don't be so angry about it.

Matherne was a freaking animal. I dont disagree with him winning Mr. Football although I think Ford should have been #2.
He led his team to the state title, he was the best player in the dome, and he put up crazy stats.
If he was 6'0 195 he'd be a HUGE D-1 recruit. I think these things are mostly about stats and Randle didnt put up the numbers so I see why he wasnt even considered.
Personally I would have liked to have seen Mingo win the award but Im as biased as Muffberger and Herbstreet doing a USC game.
