hard to believe some wanted to put Collins into the game when we were still in it....Nuss has been excellent all year. Ole Miss had a great scheme and kept him of balance and he was not as accurate. But, when it counted, he delivered.
Hopefully he'll learn from the mistakes on Saturday and get even better.
But, as long as Nuss is out there and a few points down, we had a chance!

LSU has played "competition" vs USC, USCe and OM so far.

The offense has struggled in each of these.

He was really really bad for the entire night until the last couple of minutes.

Was not taking what the defense gave him and was forcing bad throws deep. Felt like we were behind the sticks all game because of it.

Needs to hit check downs and tuck and run when he can.

Nuss needs to tuck and run a few times per game. Defensive LBs and backs never have to worry about him running so play deeper in coverage.

Inexperienced WR's didn't help. The TD called back could have easily not been over turned.

LSU did better than these teams averages on yards (total defense) and points (scoring defense) And keep in mind that for the USCs those averages include LSU which would tick them up a bit.

Total D

USCw - 313.4 ypg (#34), LSU had 421 yards

USCe - 296.8 ypg (#22), LSU had 417 yards

Ole Miss - 267.5 ypg (#12), LSU had 421 yards

Scoring D

USCw - 18.4 ppg (#29), LSU had 20 points

USCe - 19 ppg (#32), LSU had 36 points

Ole Miss - 7.5 ppg (#3), LSU had 29 points

Because the passing game is about all we have.

Its Nuss or nothing. I think he's doing well carrying that load in his first season starting.
