Not sure if it's been discussed or not, but anyone looking forward to this one? As a child of the 80s, this kind of premise usually always checks a box. Plus you got old ash involved, in a most likely minor role

From wiki
quote:

Set during the Satanic panic of the 1980s, a beloved varsity quarterback's disappearance causes whispers of occult activity and Satanic influence throughout the town. Dylan Campbell, Jordy, and Spud, a trio of outcasts in a struggling heavy metal band called Dethkrunch, decide to capitalize on the town’s sudden interest in the occult by rebranding themselves as a Satanic metal band, which leads to them becoming the targets of the town's witch hunt.

Disappoint that Def Lepard's "Hysteria" wasn't played during the trailer.

Now that you mention it, despite the title, it’s a very mellow song.

I gotta admit - I signed up for Peacock for the Olympics, but damn there is some good stuff on there to stream. Traitors is a good reality show - and I hate reality shows

The Anonymous (which ends tonight, I believe) is outstanding.

Anyone watched the whole season? I watched E1 & have mixed feelings. I liked it, but they were really lazy with the 80's nostalgia. Some kids were dressed from 1981, some from 1991, & some from 2024. Beyond the music, nothing really felt like it was out of the 1980's.

Also, I don't ever remember satanic panic being a real thing outside of late night tv evangelists trying to find messages from playing records backwards. Everyone I knew listened to metal music & I don't remember anyone's parents really caring at all. My mom was more concerned about Madonna than she was about Metallica or Slayer.

I finished episode 4 last night and I don't feel like I've learned a lot since episode 1. It definitely moves slowly. I'm going to finish it because I want to see where it's all headed. It's a campy show, but I'm entertained.

About the nostalgia....I was born in '80 so I was a little young to remember the satanic panic. They nailed the look of the interior of the homes and the way the moms dressed. I think the kids wardrobes were a little off. Their slang was off too.

Agreed, the main characters house was authentic as hell with the drab interior & wood paneling. If you've never seen it, the movie Slugs nails that ugly 80's aesthetic. Great movie too.
