Williams should be regarded on the same level as Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, Wagner, etc.

His music is immortal.

It’s actually amazing when you sit down and think about just how many Theme Songs he’s put together that each could be considered iconic.

Jaws
Star Wars
Indiana Jones
Jurassic Park
Superman

and then that his son is the lead singer of Toto and did the singing voice for adult Simba is just also wild.

For some reason I didn't realize he did the Harry Potter music. The documentary was great

I see nothing wrong with this statement.

John Williams is one of the greatest artists who has ever lived. 2 minutes into this documentary, and I already have goosebumps.

Great documentary about a great man. I didn’t realize he was the piano player for the iconic opening theme of To Kill a Mockingbird.

That dude is 92? He acts 75. And it’s funny he’s got a belly and is overweight. Don’t see many 90+ people like that

He’s the GOAT

Just google "tigerdroppings" and whatever subject you're searching for. Much better than the search function in here.

I miss musical scores in movies. Everything now is always rock soundtracks or worse, hip hop.

Williams had said that when he met Lucas he'd never seen American Graffiti. Probably a good thing, since American Graffiti ushered in the non-score, mega-pop-hit film model.

That's because they are appealing to the lowest common denominator when scoring movies. Kids today have absolutely no idea what real musicianship is or what real music is.

I think it really just depends on the movie. A movie like 21 Jump Street doesn't need an original musical score.

Maybe you are right. I don't know if you've watched the doc or not, but a lot of these movies didn't work with original music idea's until they inserted JW and his mastery of an orchestra and his amazing ability to write music.

Home Alone is one example. JW took that film to the next level with his score (which should have won an Oscar).

Yeah, there just isn't anyone like him. The only one I can even think of as taking over when JW leaves is Ramin Djawadi, he did Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon, Clash of the Titans, Pacific Rim, Warcraft, A Wrinkle in Time, Iron Man and Eternals, television series including 3 Body Problem, Prison Break, Person of Interest, Jack Ryan, Westworld, and Fallout.

Westworld was really good but also used a lot of other people's songs and just redid them.
