We can’t keep Sloan as OC…

Sorry but he’s just not the guy. Our redzone offense is insanely bad. He won’t let our backs run the ball when Durham was getting good yards.
Two field goals early killed all momentum essentially.
Don’t know who we bring in but it’s not working with what we got

No Sloan equals no Underwood. Just throwing that out there.

You can't keep a terrible coach because a recruit may or may not come. LSU needs a real OC.
Sloan/Kelly will ruin Underwood anyway.

If we had a powerful running back many of our woes would be taken care of. Josh Williams is the closest thing we have.

He needs to be qb coach again, that’s it

This “powerful running back “ needs a hole to run through.

The C and LG are routinely getting moved backwards on both running and passing plays. That's assuming they actually engage a defender.

Yea, if Sloan would quit throwing those interceptions, LSU would be better.

Double edged sword. If the offense is predictable enough that we lose a few more games and Underwood says he doesn't want to do that, you then have a bad oc and no BU.

Maybe not. But he is hamstrung by our not being able to run the ball.

It’s the worst I’ve ever seen. But it starts with our inability to run block. Our OL is atrocious at it. And you can’t be good in the red zone if you can’t run the ball. Teams have to know you can run or pass to keep them on their heels a bit. But they don’t have to respect us running the ball. And when you become 1-dimensional with the pass, it’s just really easy to defend down there because the field is so shrunk.

Durham is hurt. I don’t understand how people refuse to accept this. 2 dislocated toes don’t just heal in a week or 2. He won’t be 100% the rest of the season. Yes, he broke off an awesome 45-yard run to set us up on 1st and goal.
1st, I think he would have housed it if he had been 100%. 2nd, he may have reaggravated it on that run, which could be why we didn’t see him in the red zone. Or, he could have just been completely gassed. The best thing to do for a foot injury is to stay off of it. Which has likely hurt his conditioning pretty significantly.
Regardless, he’s clearly our best RB by a significant margin when right. Our coaches aren’t stupid and aren’t just taking him out of the game for no reason. And Frank makes the personnel calls at RB anyway, not Sloan.
I’m not defending Sloan. But I don’t know enough about the intricacies of the Xs and Os to make a confident judgement on him as a play caller. He may be doing the best he possibly can given what’s he’s got to work with. Or what he doesn’t have. Or he may just suck. I honestly don’t know.

Even injured he's our best rb.

He looks just fine running around tackle. We just can’t run them up the middle into the weakest part of the line. Maybe also design some running plays where the lineman are pulling?

I admit I smoke a lot of weed and have no short term memory, but wasn’t Denbrock the OC for JD ?

Sloan’s offense is predicated on having a mobile quarterback. Very limited when the quarterback is no threat to run imo.

Sloan didn’t drop a TD pass in the end zone.
Sloan didn’t throw an interception in the end zone. (Again)
Sloan didn’t over throw a 6’ 7” receiver in the back of the end zone. (Didn’t even give the man a chance to catch it).
Sloan isn’t throwing into triple coverage when two other receivers are streaking down the field WIDE OPEN.
Sloan may need to be better, but in all reality he is extremely hand cuffed with a terrible run blocking offensive line and a quarter back that cannot read a field or a defense to save his life.
Hard to blame Sloan when 80% of the time, the play worked but the players didn’t execute.

When are we going to have the conversation about Nuss though? 3rd and 5 or less and a check down guy is there, Nuss launching it 30 yards downfield into double coverage...

In any event, Sloan/Kelly call the ideal offense for Underwood. He is perfect for their preferred offense.
