If tweet fails to load, click here. Fong says that LSU & UF are the two teams making a late push for him.

I really want him in this class, regardless of what happens with Harper.

Thought seems to be maybe some NIL opened up since Harper’s imminent flip.

We need this guy with or without Devin Harper but would definitely take that trade all day. Iirc he was really high on Davis before committing to FSU. He and Curne could both compete to start day one at OG or OT. It's now obvious that in our offense we need maulers on the interior of the o line to be able to run that inside zone they like so much. It seems like Curne could be a difference maker at one of those spots. Would be great to start the O line rebuild with those two and Miller

Could you see any of the OLine commits turning out like Campbell or Emery Jones and starting day 1?

Thomas feels like he'd be the most Day 1 ready of the guys we have committed + him, but doesn't mean he'd start if we have other guys more ready at whatever position they want to put him at.
There's been a couple other threads on OL this week but as it stands right now, my POV is:
LT: Tyree Adams
LG: Paul Mubenga / Transfer
C: Coen Echols
RG: DJ Chester
RT: Weston Davis
I'd really like to see either Curne or Miller challenge for that LG spot, and move Chester back to Guard so he can focus on his assignments, rather than getting everyone else's set.
I think Echols is going to be a really good Center if they get him in there. LSU asked him to start working as a Center when he was still at Katy HS (know some guys out there that know Coen and have confirmed as much). So by the time next season rolls around, he'll have almost 2 years of reps between HS + College getting accustomed to the position.

Good question. I don't think anything is planned, or at least I haven't seen anything publicly (doesn't mean it's not though...).
It'll be hard to see him flipping to us without having made another visit in the next couple weeks.
This could end up very similar to Echols' recruitment though - he visited in the summer before his senior year, and didn't visit again until an official just before signing day, then obviously signed with us.
If Brad can pull off that kind of move again, he's a magician.

My brain thinks of that Stanford DL guy every time I here about this kid

If Echols started working at Center in High School through now, I don’t get how he hasn’t gotten better than Chester by now. Sometimes Chester looks like he’s never played the position!

Need to time to adjust to the college level. Get in a college weight room, etc.
Kelly doesn’t seem one to make a big shift mid season either, clearly.
