It’s our 30th wedding anniversary and I’m looking for something special. It’s a little late to be looking for NYE, but who knows.
We could also do the weekend before or after if necessary.
TIA

Start with the Windsor Court. Try for a club level suite, preferably one that faces the river.
Or blow a load and get one at the Four Seasons.
Move into the Ritz next

The Sugar Bowl people (not LSU) will be taking the hotel rooms that weekend.

try the st vincent they have some really nice suites. The royal orleans has the penthouse and the royal suite both extremely luxurious. They also have standard suites which are smaller but also very very nice
you’re just gonna have to call around

I’d do the weekend after.
The Sugar Bowl throws some kinks into things, but probably the most pleasant New Orleans trip I’ve had was when Ole Miss played in the Sugar Bowl (2016?) and we drove down on 1/1 and stayed for a couple days after the new year. 1/1 was obviously crowded, but we had a good time the next couple days as the crowd died down.

I heard great things about the newer Virgin Hotel down there, but I have never stayed there or at any of them before.

Many of the downtown hotels have what you are looking for. Le Meridien has some nice ones, Westin, Hilton Riverside, Caesars just opened the new hotel with some Nobu suites
