Living the dream guide service is the best IMO.

Was going to suggest Tail Chasers but I see they are no longer taking reservations.
Some of the other guides mentioned are very good.

Used LTD for years. Then my guide left for a career change, we got reassigned, and my buddies were out the day that bad weather rolled through and those two people died. (I ended up not going bc of a last minute conflict). So they had less than 2 hours of time on the water, including the boat ride in and out, and LTD charged me $600 of the $900 total, and wouldn’t budge. Don’t think I’ll return.

Whoever you go with I hope you understand that it will require multiple boats/charters with that many people.

I think they have some guides that use party barges that could work for that crowd

We are looking into the same thing for next year.

Are there any times of the year that are better/worse? My wife has never been fishing and I'd like to take her to do something like this. We've talked about it and may have a few other couples interested.

Bent Rods has a good staff. They can accommodate up to 8 on some of their boats.

I think april - June is the most popular time for sac a lait.

April. Just depends on conditions. Lake is up over a foot after this last weather system.
