Must play games for PS4

I’m about to buy a PS4 and curious what are the must have games to start off with.
I’ve had every PlayStation but skipped the 4 and looking to see what your favorites were for the system.

I'm struggling to think of something that you can't play on the 5. Some of the more noteworthy titles would be Last of Us Part 2 and Ghost of Tsushima but those can be played on PS5.
Maybe someone with more depth on the console will provide you with a better answer.

It’s obsolete, controllers are getting harder to find at stores. You have to order them

I just got Bloodborne for Christmas for this reason. I think it's only on the PS4

PS5 is basically fully backwards compatible with PS4 games and controllers just as a heads up.
But if you want to get a PS4 because you're a collector of systems or you can get one super cheap or free or something, go for it.
It should also be noted some formerly PS4 only games have now had remasters or re-releases or what not on PS5 as well, so something to keep in mind.
Here's a trimmed list worth checking out. Several of these titles are exclusives but several of them are also cross platform if you prefer PC.
Bloodborne
Dark Souls III
Doom
Doom Eternal
Devil May Cry 5
Dragon Quest XI
Elden Ring
God of War
Nioh
Nioh 2
Red Dead Redemption II
Resident Evil 2 remake
Resident Evil 3 remake
Resident Evil 7
Sekiro
The Last Guardian
Uncharted 4

Buy a PS5 instead and you can play all the ps4 games on it. God of war 1&2, Spider-Man 1&2, Horizon 1&2, Ghost of Tsushima, and many more!

Just easing back into gaming and don’t really need a PS5, just gonna grab a used PS4 and see how it goes.
Thanks to all for the recs

You should also be aware there are several PS4 models.
The original model, you can tell it's an original by the glossy side panel.
Then the slightly updated original model followed, the side panel is now matte like the rest of the console. It runs a little cooler and quieter.
Then they released the PS4 Pro, you can tell it by the double slit along the the front and there's no side panel anymore. The base model was also redesigned at this time to match the PS4 pro look, but it has a single slit along the front.
The PS4 pro has better hardware that some games take advantage of for better frame rates or resolutions.

What other system (not PS5 given the parameters of the thread) can you buy Bloodbourne for?

Dying Light is one of my all time favorites. I think Days Gone is on PS4 and if it, you should pick that one up too.

Questions for everyone.
I'm thinking about getting a PS5, but not sure which versions are out there and which version is the best one for general use.
Regular vs Slim? Any real difference?
On board memory? Not sure of the options, but how much do you need for best results? 1TB? Is that standard?
What does the digital model mean?
I see they've dropped in price, down to $375-$425 from a quick google search. Not bad.
**EDIT AFTER A QUICK GOOGLE SEARCH**
Seems the pro and slim are the same. The slim is just a replacement for the pro's larger, chunky size. No change in performance other than memory storage it seems.

No disc drive. You have to download all your games.

I would just get a PS5. It can play all the PS4 games, has a much easier to use UI, and will last you much longer.
