Custom wood chairs for dining room

Just got gifted my MIL's kitchen table that has been around for awhile and is in really great shape. I'm hoping to either find six chairs that can match it very closely or have someone make them and stain them to the table color as close as possible. Any recommendations in the BR area?

All I have to contribute is that dining chairs are too fricking expensive

Almost unreasonably.
Depending on what you are looking for, there's a place on the north shore that has a bunch of customer furniture builders under one roof with booths in the building. Don't remember what it's called but someone here may know what I'm talking about.
Do you have a picture of the table?

One of those convict woodworkers at Angola could probably knock that out for you cheap.

Ford Thomas in BTR is an excellent furniture designer and maker. I don't know if he's still in business. Facebook has phone contacts...LINK
Something I learned from him is that many commercial woodworkers shy away from making chairs because of liability. People are more likely to suffer an injury from a chair accident than with any other type of furniture.
You might just get something unfinished from All Woods and have them custom finished. LINK

As a woodworker, I get it now. Especially for chairs. I’ve built a dining table. The cost to me was over $1000 in lumber alone and it was just red oak. Not a super expensive species. And the table itself is a magnitude easier than a chair as far as skill required.

During COVID, my friend supplied Angola with some of their auto shop machinery parts/supplies and was talking to the person running the woodworking shop. Since they couldn't go out to the public as much, he was getting my friend to make orders by word of mouth for chairs and tiny tables. We got a set of stained/painted rocking chairs and a tiny table for $250. Made from Cypress if I'm not mistaken and they are very nice. Pics posted later

Yeah I'm doing a tiny but more research and noticing I can just get unfinished chairs and stain them myself. I will probably go that route since I don't need super fancy chairs. I really just want something that goes well with our new table.

Yep. I'll build a table all day long for someone and not charge much over materials. Chairs suck. I've made a few but got so tired of my spokeshave that I haven't touched it since. I dont have a lathe and I hate wood turning.
I will only ever make stools from now on.

Yep...if you know someone with a prison link you can get some nice stuff.
I do not have that link...wish I did.

But if you really want to find someone in that area and have no idea where to start, id find the best hardwood dealer in the area and go in and talk to employees about who they recommend.
