I don’t have high hopes, but there’s no reason this can’t be extremely good if they don’t frick it up. The core story of that game is excellent.

I thought it was getting the fallout treatment and Netflix was supposed to be doing a series?

Man are they going to make a fricking movie about anything? That being said if any video game needed a movie, this one would be high up there. Leaving aside it’s pretty shite Ubisoft world, the story (in the the 1st game) is actually very very good and already broken down into a very clean 3 act structure. It would be impossible nearly to frick up.
PlayStation has a few IPs that would make excellent films if done properly. This one, Ghost of Tsushima which is already in production, the original god of war trilogy if you really leaned in an went hard R with it.
Xbox has some too. I think gears of war could be excellent as like a 10 episode season show.

The first game’s story specifically the third act is terrific. As long as they don’t sweet baby inc the story it should do well.

This is a story woke Hollywood should love. An original story about a strong female character saving the world. No need to gender swap any existing characters. That being said, I don't have high hopes for it. They'll find a way to screw this up.

I'd buckle up for a lot more. Thing is video game adaptions have started making money.
The Sonic movies have all made good money, the Mario movie made a shite ton of money, the Last of Us series on HBO was well received, etc.
Hollywood has been completely out of ideas for decades and now I'm sure there will be a complete avalanche of these video game adaptions. Trend chasing has always been a major thing in Hollywood.
A lot of them will flop though. Movie executives probably don't understand not all IP's are created equal. Mario and Sonic are video game Mt Rushmore characters. The general public doesn't know or give a shite about Aloy, despite what Sony executives or fanboys may tell you.

Maybe they can get that Niko Advacado guy who eats himself to death on YouTube to play Aloy in the sequel. She put on some major weight in those wilds.
