Fire is about a block away and 0% contained. Awful to see

Supposed to host the olympics and a US Open in 2031

Maybe the libs out there will start allowing brush cutting and prescribed burns and forest thinning to save homes and businesses rather than some obscure animal.

That ain't happening. Its being reported that the hydrants don't have water. California is a dumpster fire.

They've been doing that for years now.

They have deep water wells they will be able to save it, if they have power for the water pumps and people.

You can directly lay this on the climate control scam that has infested the world. This was preventable or at least a large measure of it.
Every liberal scum politician should pay a very heavy price for this fiasco, and hopefully the country will not let this incompetency go unnoticed.

No they haven’t. Not to the degree that was needed. Why do you think they are only state that constantly has devastating forest fires?

Trust me I know a ton about this and their stance through work.

I used to feel the same way about these fires, until 2 summers ago when SW LA had wildfires due to the drought. A lot, if not most of the acreage that burned was managed timberland. Plenty of prescribed burns & timber management. Still burned for days.

Also, what’s burning is not in timberland, it’s in Los Angeles, the 2nd largest population center in this country. So prescribed burns & forest thinning is not a thing you do in heavily populated areas.

That said, there may be things that the State of California is or is not doing that makes the state more susceptible to wildfires. That can & should be debated, later. Right now people just like you and me are losing their homes & for a few, their lives. Maybe we can keep those people in our prayers.

And since this is the Golf Board, we can hope that an iconic American golf course will be spared.

I submitted permit applications to three different CA state departments for projects. All three were denied.

Same scope of work in four different other states were all passed with no objections, comments, or questions.

The permit applications were all just about copy and pasted verbatim. CA offered no reason for objection when pressed other than the possibility of disturbing nesting grounds and mating habitat for a few different animals that aren’t even on the Threatened and Endangered Species list. Environmental impact was vehicles passing through some state owned land 2-3 times a month and excavating a small ditch to lay cables for satellite communication on private land.
