Sell the Pelicans

The experiment has had decades and multiple attempts to build something through generations of ownership/management/players

The sad part team is still very profitable. You sound a bit naive thinking these billionaire owners actually care about winning and losing. Taxpayers fund stadiums and the cba to cover player salaries, Gayle and most other owners don’t give a damn if they win or lose.

The nba sucks balls in Louisiana. Nobody wants to take their kids to watch the team get blown out with regularity.
The players don’t want to play in Nola. There’s no fame here.
The NBA as a whole is sucking. The Pelicans are at the bottom of that list of sucky teams. Perennially sucky. So much suckage. On all fronts. in every category,

This is a great point. But the team is being sold soon. It has to be after she passes and she's not young. I know she doesn't want to sell and be the one that lost the city the team. So, she'll hold onto it.
I wouldn't mind it being sold, so that we got serious leadership. All of these issues start at the top. She's not directly to blame. But she isn't helping the situation at all either..

So correct, you can get some games now for $3. Nothing screams not a major league city like that price and $18 tickets for many Saints games.
If you care for the Pels move the team so they have a chance. Learn to root for the Pels and decouple from NOLA.

She can add that to selling price, the next owner can get the benefit as it’s already done and can easily negotiate.

If it was as simple as not watching that would be fine, but we are bombarded with Saints and Pels news, player advertisements, and even driving by the Superdome and Smoothie King Center causes negative emotions for many of us.
Both franchises are a stain on the city that hurts our reputation. They need to be sold and soon.
