Is there anyone in here a General Studies major and what is it? I notice that a lot of athletes(and it is not just LSU) major in GS and Communications. Do a lot of our players major in these areas?

If you don't know what General Studies is go get tested.

I am. Not sure how to tell you what it is, but when I decided I wanted to go to Law School, GS was the only way I could finish on time coming from Chem. Engineering. Too many 1000 level classes that would not transfer to History/Poli Sci etc, and not enough required courses for those either. Humanities was a big problem for me I think. It was either General Studies, or wait another year to start law School.

because it doenst require as much as other majors like medical related ones or engineering. which allows more time to concentrate on sports

No reason to bring Derby Tigah into the conversation.

I have 14 football players and a good number of baseball players in my Contemporary Mathematics class, along with a legitimately mentally retarded student.
Why do you think that is?

Thanks for the info. I had an idea that this was the situation, but just thought I would bounce it off of you guys.

Some players have no intention of actually graduating. SOME. So just taking GS would be the logical thing to do, at least to me anyways.
Not saying there is a problem with that by any means.

Which one are you?
A. football player
B. baseball player
C. mentally retarded student
These are the only classifications you gave us of people in the class.
(If he is C, I hope he understands multiple choice questions.)

I was a basic science major, then engineering, then when I got sick of math, I found out I could graduate in a year and a half in mass comm. I would guess it's because most of your classes count in those curriculum. Don't have to do that much extra work.
As for Ciron, he said he wanted to do broadcasting once his playing days were done, as an analyst.

less studying
Depends on what Communications you are talking about. Comm Studies involves a ton of reading for classes such as rhetoric and interpersonal.
