In the market for a new truck 2024-2025. Haven’t bought new since 2018 Ford F-150. My mechanic informed me many manufacturers are using a wet drive belt now and he highly recommend against buying anything with that. Anyone have a list of trucks that do not have this?

CVT transmission, don't want one at all

If in fact, you were talking about a CVT. Do not get one.
This is almost like pharmaceutical phase 3 clinical trials. Let someone else be the guinea pig.
But if you were talking about a version of a serpentine belt, then I have no information on that.

Talking about the belt-driven oil pumps where the belt in inside the timing cover and into the oil pan? Yeah, that's a miserable design, as is any belt driven oil pump for that matter. Bad enough when they are chain driven (as well as water pumps).

What truck has a CVT transmission?

He is talking about a belt that drives the oil pump. Ford started using it in the 5.0 trucks 2021 and a few years earlier in the 2.7.
I guess the gear type oil pump driven off the crankshaft used prior was just too simple and reliable.
The new design is a Kevlar belt and supposedly is a lifetime belt. Too early to tell.
I don’t see an advantage in cost savings or reliability for Ford.
