mind totally blown! Super Bowl Record

So I just realized we are 1 of only 4 teams with a perfect super bowl record that actually made the Super Bowl. Jets 1-0, Bucs 2-0, and Ravens 2-0 are the only others.

Saints have been in existence for over 50+ years and have only appeared in 1 single solitary SuperBowl.
Pretty Embarrassing !!

Vikings and Bills have 4 appearances each. Guess how many trophies between them?
At least the Saints won the Super Bowl. How about the Falcons? They blew a 28-3 lead and have never won the Super Bowl.

The Lions have been around much longer than the saints and have never even made the Super Bowl. Lots of teams would trade their history with ours.

We would trade our history for far more teams than those that would trade with ours.
The lightning in a bottle events that led to a Super Bowl are long gone, you won’t see another with Gayle and likely will never see another as long as the team is in NOLA.

How can you have a perfect Super Bowl record without being in the Super Bowl.

That team was built and should have had more Super Bowl appearances including one instance of being totally robbed by refs. It wasn’t lightning in a bottle doofus.

There are 12 teams that have never won a Super Bowl, 4 have never played in it. The Detroit Lions were around for 30 years before the Saints and have never been.

The Cardinals are the oldest professional football franchise starting in 1898 but even then they only won titles in 1925 and 1947 and nothing since.

When the Cardinals won the NFL Championship games in 1925 and 194, they were the Chicago Cardinals.
It's sad that neither the St. Louis nor the Arizona Cardinals have ever been to the Super Bowl.

Every few years, I’m still perplexed at how the Vikings do not have a SB yet given their deep history.

The Saints were hosed in 2018 with the no call interference so that should have been 2 SBs.
In 2011, if the defense could make one stop against SF in their last drive, the Saints host the Giants in NFC Championship Game. I feel they would have won that game and beat the Pats in the SB.
Who knows what would have happened if Marcus Williams made a tackle against Diggs in Minnesota. Maybe they shock the Eagles.
At least 3 SB trips the Saints could/should have. A majority of the time in late 80s/early 90s, the Saints had Joe Montana to deal with and then Steve Young.

SB43 says hello. Arizona Cardinals vs Pittsburgh Steelers

Well, the Rams at least won a Super Bowl for St. Louis, and the Arizona Cardinals have actually played in one, the year before the Saints won theirs, in fact.

Falcons are 0-2 and the Panthers are 0-2 so even though the Saints have only been to 1 SB at least they won it.

So 12 teams without a SB win, 4 with a single one. Saints/Jets with a single appearance.
At that point it's subjective. But still that's 15 other franchises with 1 or zero SBs and 16 with multiple.
Not "far more teams" but technically more.

Depends on what you quantify and value.
The Lions have 4 NFL titles (not their fault it was pre merger) it’s still a championship. I’ll take that any day over the Saints.
Vikings are 8th best team in wins and percentage all time with 4 Super Bowl appearances. Much better history than the Saints. I’ll trade all day.
Bills for similar reasons though they are a .500 team all time.
Even the Falcons who I wouldn’t trade have 2 Super Bowl appearances.
If you think about it with 16 teams in the NFC and Saints in business for 57 years by sheer average we should have 3 Super Bowl appearances. We don’t because for half their existence the owner has been garbage (yes Gayle is clueless). Incompetent owners aren’t winning a Super Bowl.

I forgot about that! Thanks.
