I did it to some parts of my lawn about ten days ago and the color in the green up is looking good even with some parts still looking like it was on fire recently.

No but I saw some dumbass did it next to their vinyl siding and their house looks like the Nazi guy in raiders of the lost arc.

Some people have zero common sense
Just make a water barrier, takes and extra 30 seconds on the area you are burning

People going wild doing this on Bermuda lawn dominators FB group. I wouldn't mind because I love burning things but mines already green and my neighbors would likely be pretty pissed.

Yea seen lots of people hating on it in that group

I’ve never burned mine because I’m sure Karen nextdoor would immediately alert the HOA.
But does burning it also burn the seeds in the soil? Seems like it would act as a good pre-emergent, but doubt it gets very hot over an inch or so down. Just curious.

I did this year. I needed to get rid of oak leaves that made it to the thatch layer.

I never did it because I was always worried about neighbors and worried kids would play in yard and get that soot all over them.
I usually just run my Sun Joe and rake the dead grass and pick it up with my mower.

It is not a hot fire. It won't even burn green weeds. It didn't burn the dead leaves. I had to rake those up after.

Do you wait until it’s dry, spray the border with the hose, and light the corners and let it spread? Or do you have to torch every area, kind of like spraying your herbicide or pesticide?

I wet the line between the neighbors house and then my fence. I lit a corner and used the water hose to keep it about 4 feet wide. Came back the next day and burned another line.

Planning on burning my front yard this afternoon.

All you're really doing is burning off the thatch.

I hit my yard with 0-0-40 a few days after
Also wonder if doing it after putting pre emergent down a month ago will mess it up.

When I had a small, finely manicured Bermuda front lawn at a previous home, I did this annually. The results were fantastic as a beautiful verdant, lush growth emerged and matured.
