I know he's a string bean and had 3 fouls in the first half, but why did CJ seem to play so little in favor of Quentin Thornton? We struggled offensively and CJ seems to be a greater offensive threat.

cjs offense has been virtually non exsistant this season. i was wondering the same during the game as well though.

More fouls to give trying to handle their big boys. More physical defense. CJ is not our major source of points, and we needed help on defense. It gave CJ a chance to rest, to play down the stretch with a few fouls left, to be able to play aggressively as the shot blocker. Quinton was a physical force last night.

because CJ gets abused by fat white guys in the paint

CJ didn't have a good game. Xavier and Utah - not teams we did well with down low.

I'm going to go with the fact that cj is terrible at defense...jumped early half of time last night. The other half of the time it was as if he didn't realize his man was left-handed and let him blow past instead of forcing him to the middle where he could get some help on defense. I was not impressed at all.

because CJ is not a five, he is playing out of position. he is a good player, unfortunately he is not playing where he should.
we recruited johnson as a small forward

last year dude was shooting the ball from the outside all the time. he rarely shoots the ball now. not that that is a bad thing.

I was wondering the same. He is a better scoring option and defender then Q Thornton IMO.

Well Johnson was getting pushed around by that Freshman. He really needs to put on about 20 pounds. All in all I though we should have won that game. The refs seemed to be letting a lot go on the inside. Looked to me like we were not getting a lot of calls, buy hey what can you do?

He makes a move along the baseline and then does reverse dunk the NBA would be proud of.........then he disappears. That seems to be the way with him. One or two good things and then he's finished.

He's 7 feet tall with the wingspan of a freaking airplane. If he just stays on his feet with his hands up, and stops trying to block every single shot, he would change so many shots on defensive.
He just isn't very strong defensively, and that fact that Q is just as awful, and they're are only two big men that have been playing, kills us on the interior.
I will say when he was in the game yesterday I thought he rebounded better then usual. Which was a plus.

He's 30 lbs shy of being a dominant force. I like his fundamentals and unselfishness, but a 7 footer that weighs less than your point guard has no power in the paint.
