Best "How to" for a Blackstone grill

Need to basically take mine back down and start over. Since it hadn't been used, it's gotten pretty nasty.

What's your game plan when taking one back to square one?

Clean good with soap and water, then Buffing tool with a scotchbrite pad if you have one to get rid of the rust and build up, reseason

I did one a while back using this method from Blackstone, worked great and probably took about an hour.

I used a sander to get mine back down. Took a while.

I used soap and hose pipe to get all the oil and gunk off. Then hit it with a tiger disc.



Then just reseason it with some oil and you are good to go.

Orbital sander. I smooth cast iron skillets with it as well.

I haven't tried the grill bricks but if you don't have power tools I'd try one of those for serious restoration. If it's bad a scotch-brite pad will work you do death trying to get it clean.
