He, Dan Rapaport, and Brandel Chamblee should start a venture together as the three most insufferable and cringey golf media members.

Am I missing something in his statement?
Nolayingup wanted to make him full time, but he left to pursue something full time?
ETA: I misunderstood his statement and have been proven wrong by Jim. Forgive me.

They said move forward without him. This news makes sense to me. He never seemed to fit in with the group. I also thought it seemed weird how little work he seemed to do. I assumed he would be writing a piece a week, but it was few and far between. I will miss his major deep dives with Soly, though. TC can always take his spot.

Tough. His deep dive pods are the best pods they have

The deep dive stuff was solid historical work. Always enjoyed the random quotes he’d pull from the era he was reporting on.
But his long form narration pieces that were supposed to conjure up some nostalgia always fell flat for me. Just cringy stuff.
And I think his only real journalism on the current events in the game was what he did was while he was on location.
He did bring to our attention the Blow Pig nickname, so there’s always that.

I think it’s more like they were paying him a full time salary and he was doing part time work.

Yes

Good. He didn’t fit.

Yeah, like his ode to his mini. You know why people like their muni, because it's theirs. Hearing about other shitty munis isn't all that interesting.
I could have missed it, but I felt like he didn't do any writing for any of the majors. The only thing I can think of was the sounds of the gallery thing from the Masters. That wasn't even writing, just a live mic while they walked around. That one fell flat for me because I wasn't living and dying by what Rory did.

He may not be architecture oriented enough for the Fried Egg, but I’d love for him to write there.

I think he'd be an awful fit. I don't know how much he knows about golf. I think he knows professional golf and history, but I don't think he has the background to write about non-event golf.

Insufferable douche. Good riddance.

The bad impressions of Jon Rahm and Gary Player and then Seve Ballesteros were cringey. His solo pieces fell flat for me. I did enjoy the deep dives on old majors and Ryder cups, just not the impressions
