Look like it hurt
I’m guessing this is the deer that busted his arse because they have been together every day for the last few days.
Pretty unique deer and I haven’t figured out what deer he is from last year yet but he’s completely different from last year.

Not terrible by any means. Three year old?
Is that pic from when you stuck him?

I don’t think there’s anyway he’s 3. It’s hard for me to judge them this time of year on camera. Once I get a couple sits in the next 2 months I’ll start to sort them out from the last several years of pics.
Take this deer for example. I think I know what deer it is and I had him at 5 last year so I passed on him but I haven’t got a straight on shot yet to see his brows so I’m just guessing. Nothing in this pic at this point of the year tells me he’s 6 though so it could be one of my smaller 10’s from last year that I had at 3 that blew up. I had 10 or 11 10 pointers last year and let them all walk so he got some work to do.
I did not shoot a single deer last year so some probably died of old age

Look in the right edge of the feeder pic and you’ll see hooves and a snout.

That deer doesn’t look that old to me. Neck isn’t especially thick or looking like one line straight down through his brisket, no sway back or potbelly….I'm thinking he’s 4-ish. I’m far from being an expert on field aging, but I’ve been trying to calibrate by aging the ones we hang.
ETA: I think I hunt pretty close to you (we are in Jim Hogg County). I always both appreciate and hate seeing the pictures you post. Jealousy is such an ugly emotion.

Alright you're starting to get on my nerves now
I wish I had your problems. If you ever need a camp chef let me know. Lol

Bucks in velvet will fight like a doe and raise up and smack the shite out of each other.

It took me way too long to see that!

I’m thinking these may be the same deer. I had him at 5.5 to 6.5 last year.
He has very unique long brows and it looks like they are the same in velvet as they were last year. If it’s the same deer he looks younger because of the summer this year and will be in peak shape before the rut around mid November.
I’ll be able to tell better once I look at my pics form lasts year and see him in person.
I’ve got a 10 from last year that’s got a big ol’ dick so he’s impossible to mix and another one that broke his legs 2 years ago and the bone came through the skin. You could see the bone last year so I’m hoping you can still see the scar this year but I haven’t seen him in camera yet.

They always look young in the summer. Even 5 and 6 year olds.
They will look like completely different animals by October/November.
