Which one do you like better of the two?

What do you mean?
First off, let me say, that I have met a couple of members of Alabama and they were great people, but they were not the same kind of band that Skynyrd was.
They were a heavily produced act, a product of Harold Shedd.
Most of their songs were written by outside songwriters and big budget studio recordings.
They were good musicians with great harmonies, but weren't creators in the way that Skynyrd was.

Little known fact, Alabama’s “My Home’s in Alabama” inspired Metallica’s “Wherever I May Roam”.

My question isn't about who is better at songwriting, music or vocals that us music snobs care about.
But who from the perspective of the average listener would like between the two that doesn't have much knowledge about either.

Depends on the listener I suppose.
I think females might mostly choose Alabama, but guys would choose Skynyrd, if those are the only 2 choices.

Does the listener enjoy country music or southern rock? There’s your answer.

I have seen YouTube reaction videos call Skynyrd country.
They don't know the difference.

Alabama and it’s not even close.
Only because lynyrd skynyrd was a tad before my time. I grew up on Alabama.
