What's up with that?

How to buy Costco gold bars, silver coins, or platinum bars
To buy precious metals from Costco, you must have an active Costco membership. And, since the metals are often out of stock, you must also have good timing. All purchases of gold, silver, or platinum must be made online at Costco.com. Also, Costco does not sell gold, silver, or platinum in Louisiana, Nevada, and Puerto Rico.

This is our king, the one with all the jewels. He's a threat to Costco's Louisiana supply.

They probably have to get some special metals sales certificate and get a special dealer license that some jewelry, pawn shops, and other precious metals dealers get.
Or they just don’t want that inventory to be shrunk by the workers that rob the place blind.

Yes, go buy gold at ATH

I didn't say I was buying, just wondering about COSTCO's policy.
From what I researched, it has to do with the delivery service. Not sure how that is related.

Ed Zachary right. The way it usually works is state officials and legislators ask the corporation how the kickbacks to them will be paid. If there is no kickback, the product gets legislated out of availability.
