Can anyone make a mini pc suggestion for elderly parents?

I5 512gb storage. Name brand (hp/intel/lenovo/etc) a plus. His monitor, which he likes, is vga output. So if it has vga, that's great. If not I'll direct him to a hdmi to vga adapter.

The new MSI Lunar Lake minis have a copilot button on front so if he gets confused, he can just press the button.

I buy all my PCs from deluxepcs.com
They are mostly refurbs that would work great for your parents needs. They have some mini's. Cheap and no bloat.
I probably buy 5-10 year from them for my office.

Unless they need to install any specific software, I recommend a Chromebook or Chromebox. My handicapped Mother-in-law called me almost non-stop needing help and asking questions about her Windows PC about 20 years. I bought her a Chromebook and drove 2000 miles round-trip and installed it and trained her how to use it. Since then I get almost zero issues and have retired as her personal computer support tech. I have replaced her Chromebook to a Chromebox a couple of times. On our next visit I will probably upgrade her Chromebox again to the latest version. Keeping her using a Chromebox is the best money I have ever spent on computers. I always get the latest ASUS brand and middle of the road with respect to CPU and RAM.

I like the Beelink line. Plenty of options and have one as my daily desktop. Can get good specs for $250-350

An old arse monitor with a VGA input? You realize that elderly parental units may highly, highly, benefit from even a FHD monitor, or a QHD ($170 at BB.) He may like a new monitor a ton better than his current. I don't even want to ask what resolution he's running it at.

Look at refurbished business mini PCs like Dell OptiPlex Micro, HP EliteDesk Mini, or Lenovo ThinkCentre Tiny. An i5 with 8 to 16 GB RAM and SSD is plenty and very stable. Most newer ones lack VGA, but HDMI to VGA adapters work fine for basic use. Business refurbs are cheap, quiet, and far more reliable than new consumer minis.

Amazon Refurb often has stupid cheap HP EliteDesk Mini's > make SURE the CPU is on the Windows 11 OK list. Something like an HP EliteDesk 800 G6 Mini Core i5-10500T w/ Win 11 can be had for $300 with 3 HDMI...might find one one with a VGA. Exact offerings change all the time. An i3 would do for the folks. For about 12 bucks you can get a metal combo under desk / wall mount for these...very slick...Mom will like the tidy look.
I sprang for a Mini instead of messing with my pimped Win10 desktop with the good video card, and edit controller. Way happy.

My mom ditched her PC for a iPad and hasn't looked back

I posted this when I was home at Christmas. Dad and I talked, we looked at a few computers and I saved a few to his Amazon wish list. Things kind of went sideways when we were there (the kid got the fly) and we let the topic die. So after not thinking about this thread for a few weeks someone on here bumped it. Obviously I didn't mention it to dad.
Well when I called them yesterday he told me he'd bough and HP mini-pc that should be there this week. Strange timing.
Thanks again to everyone for their input.
