Nobody got hated on more by the media then Saban when he left Miami

Guess we have different memories. I remember when he went to Alabama they treated him like the second coming of Bear Bryant was headed there and instantly kids started piling on the train. That pretty much jump started his career there and then he did live up to the hype and then some.

Nope, that wasn't initially. Miami media was pumping out that he was a weasel, wimped out and left, walked over convulsing player, etc. Was running nonstop on ESPN. So you proved my point....short memories.

That literally was a few people and it lasted a couple weeks. It’s nothing like you are claiming it to be. The college football world was happy Bama had a real coach. Except LSU fans we were still bitter and been bitter till his arse finally retired.

Bama handled hiring Saban perfectly. Saban wasn’t close to the dominating coach at LSU as he was at bama, but they sold it to everyone like they’d just hired the Saban he ended up being. I’m not sure if he never left LSU if he’d have ended up being as successful.
