Why are the adjectives ‘crazy’ and ‘insane’ used so much these days?

I’m not being rhetorical, I genuinely would like to understand why these 2 words are used to describe almost everything.
Is it the infiltration of internet algorithms into real life? Perhaps ‘crazy’ and ‘insane’ somehow drive clicks?
Anyone else notice this phenomenon?

It's mad, absolute bedlam, how often they are used. I'm disturbed by how much, driven. Cuckoo, batty over it.

I don't know but I agree, they are way overused.
Also...
obsessed
And if you deal with continental europeans very often, "crazy" is not the same. Here it might mean kind of fun and irreverent, a little wild. Over there it means one is a loose cannon in a bad way, an instant liability that needs to be avoided or managed closely.

Just so you're aware, you used this phrase wrong, just as they use those words wrong.
It isn't a phenomenon.

I know, right? It's just insane.

I don't know if they are, but I'm biased from hanging around the current version of the political talk board too much.
