It’s clearly Stafford. Better numbers with a harder schedule.

Maye had a good year with a historically easy schedule.

Maye winning over Stafford would be voter malpractice

The odds are as close I've ever seen them after the season. Stafford slight favorite

It's clearly Stafford as the league's passing yards and TD's leader. It's actually crazy he's never been an all pro before and only made 3 pro bowls.

HIs numbers aren't necessarily better overall across the board. He's got more passing yards and TD passes than Maye, but Maye's efficiency of all league leading 71.7% completion percentage, 8.9 yards/attempt and 113.5 are all pretty significantly better than Stafford. Then you have Maye's 400+ rushing yards and 4 TDs vs. Stafford's 1 yard.

Maybe had 10 total turnovers vs. Stafford's 14 this season.

Stafford blows Maye away on TD passes and TD%, though having Davante Adams to throw jump/fade balls to in the endzone helped with that. Which leads to another point, Stafford had better weapons overall, and especially in his two starting WRs, to throw to than Maye did.

Both had pretty much equal run game support. Maye had better support from his defense.

Overall, though, I honestly couldn't argue against either one winning MVP. I just don't think it's this complete one sided to Stafford.

I don't know if Pro Bowl selections are worth much these days, not as much as previous eras.

All Pros are still worth putting stock into, though Stafford has had to match stats with Manning, Brady, Brees, Rodgers, Mahomes, Allen and Jackson during his career for that selection. Now suddenly Drake Maye in just his second year as a pro is putting up over 110.0 passer rating stats with over 30 TDs and on a team that has won its division.

I will refrain from having an opinion either way, but I will say that Stafford has the advantage of being a veteran that has never won MVP. This could be his "career achievement" MVP award.

He would be a deserving winner, too.

He's not gonna win it but you could make the case for JSN.

He accounted for 46% of the passing yards for a top 10 passing offense.

Stafford needs it even if just for a lifetime achievement award.

You could, but voters don't want WRs as their MVPs. Offensive Player of the Year, sure, but not as overall MVP.

Cooper Kupp couldn't win it when he won the triple crown and had the 2nd most receiver yards in a season. Jerry Rice scored 23 TDs in only 12 games in 1988, and won OFoY, but lost out on MVP to John Elway who accounted for 23 TDs passing and rushing in 12 games and threw 12 INTs.

Stafford will win it but he easily has the best weapons in the NFL with Adams and Nacua

It’s Stafford.

Maye having a better passer rating is a bit deceptive since it’s all in that Completion percentage which is easily manipulated.

I would give it to Stafford over Maye largely for veteran reasons.

Drake Maye had an amazing season, but I gotta give it to Stafford who is about to hit his 38'th birthday next month. To do what he did at his age is amazing.

1. Christian McCaffrey
2. Matt Stafford
3. Drake Maye.

The award is called the most valuable player, not quarterback of the year.
