shite, we might as well shut down the program if we don't give a QB $9 million.

ETA: did I say $9 million? I meant $12 million.

Okay, fine, let's give Sorsby $20 million. Last offer.

Pretty sure the days of a good QB going for $25M is right around the corner.

They are going to be making more than NFL coaches and very close to NFL QBs.

I don't think getting into a bidding war for a couple of skill players is the right approach given the sheer number of holes that need to be filled on this roster. I think you do that when you've got a solid roster and think you're one or two pieces away from a championship roster. Ole Miss isn't in the playoffs because they outbid other teams on high profile players. I get wanting to be excited about big names and 'winning' the battle for some of these players, but I don't think that's the approach Kiffin is taking and I think he knows what he's doing.

Watching dipshit billionaires pump that much money into unproven teenagers is going to push more people towards the warmth of collectivism.

Nailed it. Soon, "freedom" will be "controlled". It's happening now. The norm of 1 mill, 2 mill will turn into 5mill, 9mill, 15 mill. That's how it's happening. In society too. But, we have "freedom".

I think it’ll eventually have a tipping point. When teams start to continually be in the championship game without a multimillion dollar qb, it may start to shift. All teams will start forking out money, but paying 10 million for a kid that don’t workout will eventually change this imo.

Get outta here with this logic and common sense!

I am amazed at the number of people absolutely losing their shite today. Emotional responses in an analytical business situation.

I think we'll pay 5m. But the question remains how this will play out over the next 5 years. The going rate for a starting QB is doubling or more every season.

There's a finite amount of rev share money for the entire roster and limited legitimate NIL opportunities. Tech paying Sorsby 5m is at least 1/4 of their rev share money.

I don’t see how this model is sustainable. Yes it’s happening now and it’s exciting for the money being thrown around to build up programs. But eventually the boosters will say it’s too much right?

I know teams paid players illegally back in the day, but that was mostly blue chip high school studs and one time.
